In our final class of Module 3, we’re going to use our oil pastels and the techniques we learned last class to make an exquisite seascape.

This project is inspired by the work of artist Joseph Mallord William Turner, take a look at some of his magnificent seascapes to get an idea of the feeling we’re trying to emulate with our own unique styles.

These are the materials needed for this class:

  • A pencil
  • Oil pastels
  • White paper
  • Cotton swabs
  • Lotion
  • A damp towel

Optional supplies are: 

  • An eraser
  • Blending stumps (tortillons)
  • A file folder or paperclip for organization
