Did you finish last week’s Pure Contour Lesson and are now ready for the next steps? Let’s add some dimension to our drawings with today’s cross contour lesson. Look back on last week’s drawings and decide which one was your favorite. Please bring that drawing, and the object you drew, to today’s class. I love using black paper with white pencil for this project, but whatever you have available will work perfectly.
Here are some examples of my cross contour drawings from the lesson video, which can also be viewed at the Supplemental Materials page
The materials for cross contour are:
- a white pencil
- 5 sheets of black paper
- a regular pencil and 5 sheets of white paper will also work
- your favorite pure contour drawing from last class
- the object from your favorite pure contour drawing
- a piece of fruit or a vegetable
Optional supplies are:
- a pencil sharpener
- an eraser
- a file folder or paperclip for organization
Practice, practice, practice!
